Two-time Olympic champion Maxim Trankov has criticized the performance of the Russian figure skater Mikhail Kolyada within a team tournament at the Olympics in Pyeongchang. Words Trankova reports “CHempionata”.

“So you can ride. He apparently did not understand what the team tournament. If you want to be a champion and is hungry to victories, you need to tune in two times stronger. To go out and to ride at the Olympic games is not the best option. After his speech I said, thank God, do not act on this team tournament. If I have it in the locker room I saw, I would give bream,” said 34-year-old skater.

In addition to Christmas carols, which became second in the men’s free program, the Russian team in the team tournament took part Sagitova Alina and Evgenia Medvedeva. February 12, performances of the Russian figure skaters secured the team silver medal. The gold was won by team Canada. The bronze went to skaters from the United States.

Carol is not the first time becomes the object of criticism from more experienced colleagues. On 9 February, the performance of 22-year-old figure skater at the start of the team competitions were commented by the Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin.

Unlike Yagudin, Trankov is not officially retired. The athlete does not participate in the Olympics in Pyeongchang, as it has temporarily suspended performances for the birth of the child. Together with his wife Tatiana Volosozhar, Trankov repeatedly declared the desire to participate in the XXIII Olympic winter games.

The Olympics will last until February 25.
