Three Russian athletes not admitted to international competitions

The international Association of athletics federations (IAAF) rejected the applications for participation in international competitions 2018 in the neutral status of the three Russian athletes. About it reports a press-service of the all-Russian athletics Federation (vfla).

The IAAF refused to Artem Primak (triple jump, high jump), Timur Morgunov (pole vault) and Konstantin Shabanov (hurdles). The Association explained the reason for the refusal by the fact that the athletes enough time spent in the testing pool. One of the requirements for the approval of individual applications is the presence of the athlete in the testing pool within 12 months.

Now the athletes will miss the world indoor Championships, which will be held in Birmingham from 1 to 4 March.

In November 2017, the IAAF has extended the indefinite suspension of the club, which was imposed on the Russian organization for violating anti-doping rules. At the time of removal of the Russian athletes, the relevant criteria of the IAAF, allowed to speak at the international competitions in the status of a neutral athletes. Almost all athletes the validity period of such approval ended on 31 December 2017.
