The “Russian” General of the air force people’s liberation army (PLA) Ling Hu died at the age of 90 years. On Sunday, March 4, according to Chinese news portal Sina.
As explained by the correspondent of a friend of the family Lin Hu, the General died on the evening of March 3.
Lin Hu was born in 1927 in Harbin. His mother was Russian and his father Chinese. The boy early became an orphan, but was adopted by a family by the name of Lin.
In 1938, he joined the ranks of the Eighth army (the name of the PLA in the years 1937-1949), where he received from the commander of the name Lin Hu, which means “forest tiger”. It was transferred to a base in Shandong province, where Lin Hu took part in the war against Japan.
In 1945 he joined the Communist party of China. In 1949, Lin Hu graduated from the flight College of the PLA air force and 1 October of the same year took part in the solemn ceremony in honor of day of education of China, flying over Tiananmen square at the controls of a fighter P-51.
During the Korean war (1950-1953), Lin Hu in the Chinese people’s volunteers participated in the movement to resist us aggression and shot down several American jet fighter F-86 “sabre”.
In 1985 he was appointed Deputy commander of the PLA air force, and in 1988 he received the title of Lieutenant-General of aviation. Later, Lin Hu was elected to the session of vsekitajsky meeting of national representatives (vsnp) VII and VIII convocations, was also a member of the NPC Committee on international Affairs.
