Winter temperatures in Russia in mid-XXI century may increase by five degrees due to global climate change. It is declared by the centre of monitoring and forecasting of emergencies “Antistikhia”, reports on Thursday, March 8, RIA Novosti.
“The greatest warming will affect winter in the period to 2020 in most parts of European Russia and Western Siberia, the increase in temperature of 1-2 degrees, and in the middle of the XXI century an increase of 2-5 degrees is projected on the entire territory of the country”, — stated in a press release center.
The changes will especially affect Siberia and subarctic regions. Increasing summer temperatures will be less pronounced — it will be 1-3 degrees by 2050-th year.
“Antistikhia” emphasize that the number of natural hazards and technological disasters is increasing. Over the last 20 years in the world because they have killed more than 3 million people, more than 800 million have suffered.
In Russia in the affected areas in case of accidents at various sites more than 90 million people — 60 percent of the population.
