Published presentation of the British Embassy in the “case Skripal”

Published secret presentation about the case Skripal, which foreign ambassadors revealed at the British Embassy in Russia on March 22. Consisting of six slides a document posted to the newspaper “Kommersant”.

The title page consists of a header and date on the second page sets out the chronology of the incident, starting with hospitalization Skripal March 4, prior to expulsion of Russian diplomats on March 20,

The third page is dedicated to a “new phase of the Russian aggression”, and contains the thesis that Russia “is without a doubt responsible” for the incident in Salisbury. “No other country had both capabilities, intentions and motive. No credible alternative explanation does not exist”, — stated in the document.

Here is a description of a chemical nerve agent, Novichok and the exact number taken to hospital and the number involved in the investigation.

The fifth slide is entitled “a Long list of hostile actions of Russia” of 12 points. London has accused Moscow of “the murder in November 2006 of Alexander Litvinenko, a DDoS attack on Internet Estonia in 2007 and invasion of Georgia, the occupation of the Crimea and the destabilization of Ukraine”. In addition, Russia, Verviers UK, “shot down Boeing MH-17 over the Donbas, broke into the Bundestag, intervened in the American elections, tried to organize a coup in Montenegro, carried out a cyber attack on the Ministry of defence of Denmark, to spread the virus-extortionist NotPetya, and poisoned Sergei Skripal and Julia” in March 2018.

The final page lists the measures the British government took the results of the above — “a direct reference to the responsibility of Russia”, “the dismantling of the Russian intelligence network in the UK”, “freeze all planned bilateral contacts, strengthening border control and combating crime and corruption; the adoption of new laws and other measures against hostile state.”

Earlier, US Ambassador to Russia John huntsman said, what is presented in the presentation position of London appeared to him to be “very convincing”. According to him, Washington fully trusts the information provided by the British side — the picture was “clear enough” for everyone.

Earlier on 27 March, the foreign ambassadors confirmed at a briefing in the Russian Embassy in the UK that London did not provide its partners with evidence in the investigation Skripal.

Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia was discovered unconscious in a Park in British Salisbury on 4 March. As it turned out, they were poisoned with nerve agent. London has accused Russia, Moscow rejects the allegations.

On March 14, the UK has decided to expel 23 Russian diplomat. In response on March 17 the Russian foreign Ministry announced the 23 employees of the British Embassy in Moscow persona non grata.
