American Caruana won the chess candidates tournament

American grandmaster Fabiano Caruana won held in Berlin on the candidates tournament and the fall will play in the match for the world chess crown from the current champion Norwegian Magnus Carlsen. This was reported on the website of the company-the organizer of the Chess tournament World.

In the final, 14th round of the candidates tournament, Caruana was stronger than Russian Alexander Grischuk and scored nine points. He was ahead of Russian Sergey Karjakin and Azerbaijani Shakhriyar Mamedyarov at one point.

Karjakin,in turn, played a draw with Chinese Den Eigenem, but for the final triumph he wouldn’t be enough of a victory. He became the only chess player who beat Caruana in the course of the tournament.

Mamedyarov drew the match with Russian Vladimir Kramnik. There was also a draw, the Armenian Levon Aronian (Armenia) Wesley so (USA).

The match for the title of world chess champion will be held in London in November 2018.

Carlsen won the candidates tournament and became world champion in 2013, beating Indian Viswanathan Anand. In 2014, he again defeated an opponent from India, and in 2016-m was stronger than Karjakin.
