Three users Facebook Messenger has filed a lawsuit against the parent company of Facebook for gathering sensitive data about calls and text messages subscribers. About it reports Reuters.
The lawsuit was filed in Federal court in California. Instant messenger users demanded compensation for the damage, they did not give an exact amount. Representatives of the social network has not publicly reacted to the events.
The new case is due to the recent scandal surrounding Facebook. Social network users have accused the company of spying: metadata on phone calls and SMS messages are preserved in the archives of the users profiles.
March 19, American journalists reported on the unprecedented data breach of 50 million users Facebook through an affiliated company, Cambridge Analytica. Among the information was a list of friends, preferences of registered persons and their telephone contacts.
The result outraged users started a flash mob deletefacebook, which had begun to remove their own profiles. The movement was joined by large companies and celebrities, including businessman Elon musk with his Tesla and SpaceX.
A few days later, the head of Facebook mark Zuckerberg has apologised to the affected users. He said that Facebook did not justify the trust of visitors. Nevertheless, the word billionaire have little effect on the situation: according to Reuters, only 41 percent of Americans continue to fully trust Facebook in the issue of data processing.
