The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in an interview with TV channel “Star” told about the history of the British laboratory of Porton Down, “which has long been of great interest to the British public and press.”

“In particular, the Guardian wrote in 2004 that this place, which for decades have carried out experiments on men using chemical agents, including with a lethal outcome”, — the diplomat said.

According to Zakharova, the rebuttal was never published. “She [the lab] is credited, that she worked in the chemical materials found at Nazi and fascist troops in the conquered territories, and then conducted experiments directly on people,” she added, noting that the place “among other things, is seven miles from the place where you found [a former GRU Colonel Sergei] Skripal”.

On March 26, the United States declared persona non grata 60 Russian diplomats and decided to close the Consulate General in Seattle in connection with the poisoning Skripal and his daughter Julia. Also about the expulsion of employees of diplomatic missions announced Australia, Ukraine, Canada and more than ten EU countries.

Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia was discovered unconscious in a Park in British Salisbury on 4 March. As it turned out, they were poisoned with nerve agent. London has accused Russia and the first cut in the country, the Russian Embassy, and then asked about it to other European countries. Moscow all charges in the address rejects.
