Trump Putin promised to win the arms race

The President of the United States Donald trump during a telephone talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin stated that Washington will win in Moscow in the arms race. About it reports NBC News, citing two sources in the environment of the American leader.

During the meeting, trump said that “if you want to re-start the arms race, we can do that, but I will win it”. After this statement he never touched upon the tensions between the two countries.

The last telephone conversation trump and Putin took place on March 20 at the initiative of Washington. According to the results, the Kremlin said that the sides spoke for development cooperation, including in the fight against international terrorism, and also “stressed the importance of coordinated efforts to limit the arms race”. In addition, the leaders agreed to develop further bilateral contacts, including with the changes in the leadership of the U.S. Department of state. Special attention Putin and trump was paid to the study of the question of holding a possible meeting at the highest level.

On March 2, Putin accused the United States in the resumption of the arms race. Its beginning was the exit of Washington from the anti-ballistic missile Treaty.

On March 1, during the announcement of the message to the Federal Assembly, Putin spoke about the development of new weapons systems, which are capable to overcome missile defense and air defense.
