New launches from the East decided to postpone

Two launch from the Vostochny cosmodrome, which is scheduled for autumn 2018, it is planned to transfer at a later date. This was reported by RIA Novosti source in the space industry.

“The launch of the spacecraft “meteor-M” № 2.2 and two “kanopus-V” № 5 and № 6 is tentatively scheduled for December 2018″, — he said and added that the final decision on timing will be made in autumn.

According to the interlocutor of the Agency, do spacecraft have a high degree of readiness.

“Kanopus-V” earlier it was supposed to launch in November 2018. The devices in this series is designed to track natural disasters, large emissions of pollutants, and agricultural activities. Now in orbit is a four satellite-series “Canopus”.

“Meteor-M № 2.2” was planned to launch in October 2018. This weather satellite has been monitoring the clouds and the Earth’s surface, ice and snow cover, temperatures of the oceans and the earth’s surface, data on the distribution of ozone in the atmosphere. Now in orbit is only one such unit, launched in 2014. The second was lost during a failed launch from the Eastern end of 2017.

Rocket “Soyuz-2.1 b” with the upper stage “Fregat”, which was put into orbit “meteor-M № 2.2” and 18 other satellites, mostly foreign, started on 28 November with East. The head of the rocket burned up in the atmosphere, and its fragments sank in the Atlantic ocean.
