Actor Gerard Depardieu will perform songs of Vladimir Vysotsky in French and Russian in honor of the 80th anniversary of the musician. Concert for the anniversary of Soviet poet will be held in Moscow in April, according to RIA Novosti.
According to the organizers of the event, Depardieu had long wanted to work with the lyrics of Vysotsky. In the 1970s the actor has agreed to play without fee in the picture under the scenario of Vladimir Vysotsky “Vienna holiday”. The composer’s death prevented these plans.
Events for the anniversary of Vladimir Vysotsky was launched in November 2017 in the Crimea with a performance of “the Road Vysotsky”. The play will also see the audience in Yoshkar-Ola, Cheboksary, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Penza, Saransk, Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan.
In August 2017 Vysotsky entered the top five most influential Russians in the last hundred years, according to the Russian edition of Forbes magazine.
Vladimir Vysotsky was born on 25 January 1938. The musician wrote, according to various estimates, from 800 to a thousand songs. He also played in theater and cinema. In particular, he starred in the films “Vertical”, “two comrades were Serving”, “Skaz about how Tsar Peter arapa married” and “the meeting Place cannot be changed”.
