Medvedev called his last report to the state Duma

Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, speaking in the Duma, said that the report on the work of the government will be the last for the current composition. His words on Wednesday, April 11, RIA Novosti reported.

“This is a special report. The country chose the President, may 7, after the inauguration of the [new President], in accordance with the Constitution, the government will resign. So this is the last report from his current squad, so I think it is important to remember the six years of operation, they were”, — said Medvedev.

He noted that the government together with deputies solved most complex problems for the development of the country and found the optimal way out of the difficult situations. “For the last six years, obviously, it is not an exaggeration, not a figure of speech, were years of testing. Test the strength of our economy. Never before has she received so many strong blows at the same time”, — said Medvedev.

The Russian presidential elections were held on 18 March. The current head of state Vladimir Putin scored a victory with the result 76,69% of the votes. After his inauguration, the Cabinet will be dissolved. The new Cabinet must be formed within a few weeks.

In accordance with the Constitution, the government presents to the state Duma annual reports on the results of its activities, including on the questions put by the parliamentarians.
