Detectives questioned a former GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal, poisoned in the British Salisbury in early March with her daughter Julia. He is on the mend but remains in hospital, reports Sky News.
Investigators are trying to tie together all the details of the life of a former double agent in the UK. In particular, they collect information on its periodic trips to London, trips abroad as well as monthly meetings with the alleged curator of the secret service MI-6 (MI6) in one of the restaurants in Salisbury. This is due to the emergence of new details about Skripal activities on British territory.
Thus, on 14 may it was reported that the former spy met several times with the Czech security services, and in 2016, visited Estonia. It is unknown whether these visits with an attempt of poisoning, however, it was noted that they were kept secret. Also, the media pointed out that Skripal for several years before the events in Salisbury often made trips abroad with the aim of informing the European intelligence services on the work of the GRU.
On 10 April it was reported that Yulia Skripal was discharged from the hospital. Then it was pointed out that he was out of critical condition and quickly was on the mend, however, that he regained consciousness, was not reported. At the same time, Sky News passed on the words of the head physician of the hospital, who said that soon the man will be able to cooperate with the investigation.
Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia was found unconscious in the British Salisbury in early March. According to London, was poisoned with nerve substance of the Novice class, developed in the Soviet Union for military purposes. Moscow denies the accusations. In the report of the Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons also indicates that the origin of the chemical could not be established.
