The presidents of Russia and USA Vladimir Putin and Donald trump can meet at the G20 summit in Argentina or in other international forums, said assistant to the Russian President Yuri Ushakov. It is quoted by “Interfax” on Tuesday, July 24.
“There are other options [in addition to possible meetings in Washington], which I think can be considered our leaders,” he said at a press briefing.
The first full meeting of the leaders of the two countries took place on 16 July in Helsinki, behind closed doors they talked for over two hours. Both presidents praised the talks as positive. Donald trump, in turn, complained that the press distorts the tone of the negotiations, hinting at his dismissive attitude to the interests of his country.
July 19 it became known that the US President asked his aide for national security John Bolton to invite Putin to Washington. The pre-visit varnished in the fall.
