India will avoid us sanctions for the purchase of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems s-400. As the channel NDTV, this is due to the bill “On national defense spending in 2019”, which was voted by the U.S. Congress.

According to the document, some countries procuring arms from Russia, to fall under the force of the law “On counteraction to enemies of America by sanctions” (The Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act). Now it must be signed by the President of the United States Donald trump.

“This decision will allow new Delhi to buy Russian s-400,” explained a former member of the U.S. national security Council Joshua white. According to him, the rhetoric of the new bill looks very hard, as Congress increases sanctions against countries that buy weapons from Russia. However, the law has loopholes that will allow you to continue to do it, he said.

In June, The Economic Times reported that the s-400 is effective against American fighters F/A-18 Hornet and F-35 Lightning II. At the same time mentioned the advantages of Russian air defense missile systems to American THAAD complex.

At present, India plans to buy Moscow’s s-400, which oppose the US imposed sanctions against defense companies of Russia. Instead of purchasing Russian systems Washington may offer Delhi purchase THAAD.
