Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Deputy Prime Minister Vitaliy Mutko with a Chairman of the Commission on the Cossacks. This is the official portal of legal information on Friday, August 3.

“To enable the Commission … Vitaly Mutko, Deputy Chairman of the government of the Russian Federation (Chairman of the Commission)”, — the document says.

Also, the Commission included the first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee for CIS Konstantin Zatulin, the Director of the Department of culture Andrey Malyshev.

In February 2017 was approved the development strategy of the state policy concerning the Russian Cossacks till 2020. The document States the need to involve the Cossacks “to the performance of tasks of security and defense capability of Russia.” In particular, this involves the passage of military service.

July 30, Ryazan Cossacks has not confirmed the information on creating a national unified registry “enemies of the people” for 60 million rubles, where they were supposed to contain information about the liberals and critics of the government.
