Lukashenko legalized online casinos in Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree legalizing the country online casino. About it reports a press-service of the Belarusian leader.

Decree No. 305 “On improving legal regulation of the gambling industry” sets specific licensing and taxation of these activities and defines the requirements and conditions thereto. The Creator of the online casinos will need to get a license to have a security Deposit on a special account that will be used for the payment of prizes and payments to the budget in case of financial insolvency of the organiser of an online casino.

Also, the casino owner will have to provide to the tax authorities remote access to the virtual gambling houses and connect it to a special computer cash register system, providing the control over turnover in the gambling business. In addition, the changes provide for identification of the visitors of virtual casinos.

Simultaneously, Lukashenka increased the age limit for visit the gambling establishments, including virtual and gambling from 18 to 21 years. By the decree of the President of Belarus introduced a ban for visitors of gambling establishments to give other players money to participate in gambling, and to gambling establishes an obligation to install video surveillance systems in gambling establishments, fixing all the visitors and pay them cash.

It is noted that the decree will allow to minimize the outflow of funds abroad by limiting access of citizens residing in Belarus, to participate in gambling games, organized and conducted at sites located outside of the Belarusian segment of the Internet.
