Ukraine has found a new reason to sue Russia in court

Ukraine has filed against Russia’s claim concerning the Ukrainian prisoners in the Russian colonies. This was stated on his page in Facebook Deputy of the Minister of justice, Commissioner for the ECHR Ivan Hazel.

“We just filed a new interstate complaint before the European court of human rights [ECHR] regarding Ukrainian political prisoners of the Kremlin”, — he wrote.

According to him, the claim of 130 pages describes violations of eight articles of the European Convention for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms of the person in respect of 71 of the prisoner, also attached three thousands of pages of additions.

Violations relate to personal liberty, fair trial, respect for private and family life, freedom of expression, the right to protection and the prohibition of torture and humiliation of human dignity and the limitation on use of restrictions on rights of prisoners. In addition, the Filbert, for the four convicts submitted additional claims for violation of their right to adequate medical care.

In June the presidents of Ukraine and Russia was concluded on the agreement that the ombudsmen of both countries will be visited by their nationals serving sentence in the territory of a neighboring state. In the end, the Ukrainian Commissioner for human rights Lyudmila Denisova broke the rules of the visit and are unable to get to the prisoners, including film Director Oleg Sentsov.

July 2, Denisova said that her Russian counterpart Tatiana Moskalkova will not give to visit the Russians in Ukrainian prisons, because Russia broke the agreement and prevented her to visit citizens of Ukraine.
