Tickets from Russia will rise by six to eight percent from 15 August due to the fall of the ruble. It is reported by RBC with reference to the ticketing Agency Biletix.
According to information agencies, the exchange rate of the ruble against the dollar and the Euro directly affects the cost of the tickets as all the transactions are done in foreign currency at the exchange rate of the International air transport Association (IATA). Thus, the increase in ticket prices will apply to all international flights and flights by foreign airlines.
According to the President of the passenger division of Utair Pavel Permyakov, the aviation business is sensitive to fluctuations in the exchange rate. Depend on it more than 50 percent of the costs of the airline, in particular, for leasing, the purchase of fuel and spare parts.
According to the Agency, sale to international destinations increased by 30 percent, so the Russians began to prepare for a sharp rise in price of tickets. At the same time, these spikes in ticket sales at domestic destinations is not observed.
In mid-April it was reported that the tickets abroad will rise because of the revaluation of the ruble against the dollar and the Euro in the global distribution systems. Price growth was forecast at six to seven percent.
On 13 August, the dollar rate exceeded 68 percent for 2016. Key factors in the fall of the ruble experts call the US sanctions that may be imposed in the near future.
