China appealed the world trade organization (WTO) with a claim against Washington, according to a statement from the Ministry of Commerce of China.
The lawsuit was a response to the United States 30-percentage duties on import of solar cells and solar panels, which not only caused damage to the legitimate rights and interests of China, but also had a serious impact on the credibility and rigor of the rules and principles of the WTO, according to the Agency.
In conclusion, the Ministry called on the us authorities to take concrete steps to respect and comply with WTO rules, and to stop resorting to incorrect actions to return the appropriate area of trade to a normal level.
Trade relations between the United States and China escalated in early 2018. One of the reasons was the dissatisfaction of the President of the United States Donald trump’s high level of trade deficit, after which he announced the introduction of protectionist measures on Chinese goods. The country already imposed a series of import restrictions in relation to each other totaling in excess of $ 100 billion.
