Self-propelled howitzer, “Bogdan”, announced as “having no analogues in Russian weapons,” was nestrelyayuschy sample. This was written by a military expert Mikhail Zhirokhov in his column for the Ukrainian edition “Business Capital”.
Zhirokhov writes that in the Wake of the militarization of binding to the independence Day of Ukraine celebrated on 24 August, the authorities of the country “rolled out essentially the test sample” as ready weapons. He calls this history in many ways indicative of the modern condition of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex.
“In fact, we saw nestrelyayuschy sample, which have not worked out the main points needed for self-propelled artillery (ACS), obviously there is no system of automatic loading, etc. is Very ambiguous looks and the base — KrAZ with a Russian engine, which clearly does not fit into the concept of closed loop production. One gets the impression that showed due to the fact that you had something to show. Therefore, to seriously discuss some of the features at least before”, — says military expert.
Zhirokhov draws attention to the fact that the Minister of defence Stepan Poltorak on August 10 promised to adopt a “Bogdan”. “What? The statement officially adopting no after the 10th. For one simple reason — to take nothing. Most importantly — a weapon, apparently, not a shot. What is clear in principle — the production of the guns of such caliber to Ukraine has never been and its establishment is not without difficulties” — sums up the expert.
Earlier, on 10 August, the Secretary of national security and defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov presented the new howitzer for the Ukrainian army. “The weapon has a very good maiden name is Bogdan, and I advise the enemies of Ukraine well to remember it,” he said then added. According to him, the analogues of this powerful weapon there is in the modern Russian army.
