Russian family refused to “simple pleasures”

The number of Russian families who buy coffee, milk and chocolate, in July 2018 declined, while sales of these products skyrocketed. This is evidenced by research holding “ROMIR”, which calls these headings simple pleasures.

“The number of families who buy chocolate, milk and coffee declined by 0.5, 2, and 3 percent, respectively,” said analysts. However, they noted that those who continued the consumption of these products, increased the volume of their purchases: “Chocolate bars began to buy more than 2 per cent, milk by 4.7 per cent, coffee by 4.5 percent.”

“ROMIR” has also reported fourth, in addition to milk, coffee and chocolate, the component of index “Coffee with milk” is bottled water. In July, the number of families who purchase increased by 2 per cent, the total volume of purchases fell by 10 percent. However, such losses significantly on the index could not affect, making it the index remained at the June level.

The same index has contributed to the rising prices for these products. “All of the products included in the index “Coffee with milk”, compared with last month rose. Water 1 percent milk 2 percent, chocolate — 2.5 percent. Most of all added in the price of coffee nearly 8 percent,” the study says.

The tendency of Russians to save holding noted at the end of July. Then the study stated that the Russians, in principle, have reduced their daily expenses.
