The Russians will retain pension benefits

The Russians will be able to receive all due benefits to pensioners when reaching the current retirement age even after the increase, writes RBC with reference to sources in the government and the “United Russia”.

According to interlocutors of publication, the following amendments are proposed under the second reading of the bill on pension reform. This measure will not affect the budget of the Pension Fund, since the costs of benefits to pensioners are the regional budgets.

Sources of publications called preservation of benefits, “the easiest of all questions” regarding pension reform. Among other indulgences, men at the age of 60 and women at 55 years of age will, as now, to get rid of a number of taxes: transport, land and property.

Previously, the Pension Fund warned that in the future the majority of Russians, retiring early, will be forced to continue to work for the sake of income.

10 August, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that raising the retirement age is necessary and compared it with the reception of bitter medicines.

About the coming increase in retirement age to 65 years for men and 63 in women, the Prime Minister announced on 14 June. The reform will be carried out in several stages and will be completed by 2034.

On 19 July the bill passed its first reading in the state Duma.
