The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that the UN Secretariat secretly banned its departments to participate in the rebuilding of the infrastructure of Syria. On Monday, August 20, according to RIA Novosti.
According to the head of the foreign Ministry, the secret Directive, limiting participation in the reconstruction of Syria humanitarian aid, was published in the fall of 2017.
The diplomat added that the UN will allow their units to rebuild Syria “only after achieving progress in the so-called political transition.”
Earlier, on 20 August it became known that in Germany, criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for what he called on Europe to assist in rebuilding the infrastructure of Syria to return to the country of refugees.
For assistance in restoring infrastructure, Putin said at negotiations with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. They were held on 18 August and lasted three hours. The sides discussed cooperation, the situation in Syria, Iran and Ukraine.
