In the market of mayonnaise for the first time since 2005 was replaced by the leader, according to RBC, citing data from research company Nielsen. For the first six months of 2018 the best selling brand of mayonnaise was the “Sloboda”.
For six months the group “EFKO”, which owns the brand, managed to sell 33.7 per thousand tons, which is 10 percent more than the same period last year.
By far, the most popular was mayonnaise “Maheev” (producer of “Essen Prodakshn AG”). This year sales had fallen 3.4 percent, to 30.1 thousand tons per year. Thus, according to the latest “settlement” occupies 16.6 percent of the market, and “Mahe” is 14.9 percent. Last year the ratio was at 14.7 vs 15.1 per cent respectively.
As noted in the Nielsen study, sales of mayonnaise in Russia has declined. In real terms, the drop was 1.7 percent compared to the same period in 2017, in cash — four percent. Just retail the Russians for six months bought 203,2 thousand tons of mayonnaise 26.9 billion.
