Nonpayment of external debt threatens Ukraine with default. This was stated by Prime Minister of the country Vladimir Groysman at a government meeting, reports “UKRINFORM”.

“Is to stop production, the devaluation of the hryvnia, inflation. We need to protect people from this negative,” — said Groisman.
Therefore, in his opinion, Ukraine needs to cooperate with the International monetary Fund (IMF) to obtain new borrowing to return the old ones.

The Prime Minister also assured that he wants Ukraine to get rid of the “fiscal shackles” in which the country was absorbed in the period from 2005 to 2013.

In August, Ukraine was unable to obtain from the IMF tranche in the amount of $ 1.9 billion that has blocked the possibility of financial assistance from other parties. The reason is that one of the conditions for the receipt of funds — increase in gas prices for population by one — third- were not fulfilled.
