The head of the Ministry of industry and trade Denis Manturov said that the response to new American sanctions would be the rejection of the dollar and, accordingly, the transition to settlements in national currency. About it reports TASS.
“These restrictions we are trying to remove due to the transition to settlements in national currencies”, — said the Minister. He also added that new US sanctions could affect supplies of Russian producers in third countries.
Prior to that, on the subject of abandonment of the dollar was expressed by first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov. According to him, the us dollar is an unreliable tool for calculations. In this regard, he did not rule out the transition to rubles when trading in oil.
Earlier Manturov reported that Moscow has developed a response to the US ban on the export of dual-use goods. In particular, according to the head of Department, inaccessible components on electronics are imported from South-East Asia.
A new wave of anti-Russian sanctions for use of prohibited weapons, which the United States announced August 8, will affect the exports of electronics and a number of components and technologies from the oil and gas industry. The first block takes effect August 22, activating the second is scheduled for autumn.
