Russia found a replacement of the Ukrainian engines “Motor Sich”

Engine D-136 production of the Ukrainian enterprise “Motor Sich”, mounted on the heaviest in the world serial Mi-26 helicopter, in 2023 will be replaced by the Russian equivalent of the PD-12V, reported RIA Novosti the representative of “United engine Corporation”.

“Work continues in accordance with the approved plan. Successfully completed a lot of work on the schematic design of the motor, which is defined by its constructive shape and parameters. The beginning of the preliminary tests of the helicopter with a new engine — 2023”, — he said.

The interlocutor of the Agency noted that the PD-12V, developed Perm “aircraft Engine”, will provide the extension of conditions of basing of the helicopter, reduced specific fuel consumption, increase engine life, as well as the opportunity to significantly boost power.

Aircraft turboshaft engine D-136, developed in 1970-ies “Ivchenko-Progress” (Zaporozhye), since 1982 commercially available Zaporozhye enterprise “Motor Sich”.
