Belarusian athletes invited to consider the Russians

The Ministry of sports of Russia proposed to consider the Belarusian athletes Legionnaires. This follows from the documentation on the Federal portal of projects of normative legal acts.

The sports Ministry has recommended to amend the order “On approval of restrictions on the participation of athletes who are not eligible to play for sports teams of the Russian Federation in all-Russian sport competitions” that the ban did not apply to athletes from Belarus.

The offer applies to football, hockey and other team sports. Under this initiative, more Belarusians should not be considered as legionaries in the Russian teams. Order signed by sports Minister Paul Koloboks.

Currently in the Russian Premier League in football we have limits on the participation of foreigners in the format of “6+5” — field must be at least six Russian players and no more than five foreign players. In the Continental hockey League Russian teams were allowed to produce on the ice no more than five foreign players at a time.
