Russia may ban the entry of some American politicians within the framework of the response to the new anti-Russian sanctions imposed by Washington. However, the exact response is not yet defined. About it in interview to the Russian magazine “international life” said the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs Sergey Ryabkov.
“When someone learns that he or she is disadvantaged or disadvantaged in the comprehensive rights because he or she just can’t get a Russian visa is a flick on the nose and self-esteem. On the General background of all this stuff. There are many other ways to answer — but not to its detriment,” said the diplomat, adding that Russia deliberately leaves an uncertainty as to the response to the sanctions.
“If we advance something to announce, it will mean the weakening of our positions,” he said.
Ryabkov explained that the introduction of the restrictive measures “to respond symmetrically, asymmetrically, and it is possible to expand the list of “sanctioned” politicians”.
Deputy foreign Minister added that in this case, “not necessarily one hundred percent reflectivity”. “We can’t compete with the US in the economic sphere, since they are in different weight categories”, — he said.
On 27 August, as expected, the U.S. will impose new sanctions against Russia. They, in particular, apply to the export of products related to the field of national security.
