President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told the details of a recent meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Sochi. He said this in an interview to the Belarusian TV.
Lukashenko stressed that during the meetings the heads of state do not hesitate to discuss personal matters. “Above us, probably still dominates the Soviet past, when we lived together when we were just each other might in the eye and say what you think. Plus our Slavic insides. So we have a very close relationship,” he explained.
“Because of the closeness of our relationship, we speak completely openly. Even personal some issues. It would seem that personal at all, even press secretaries that are afraid to mention,” he added.
In mid-August, Lukashenko announced that the country will never become part of the Russian state. He stressed that the state can exist in Union with Russia and to resolve common tasks “without any problems”, and lamented the stupidity of such rumors.
