The Union of Ukrainians of Portugal appealed to the International football Federation (FIFA) with a request disciplinary punishment of the player “sporting Club Braga” Alan Osório, who appeared on video with anti-Ukrainian statements. This was reported on the website of the organization.

The authors of the letter note that the video Osório said that Ukraine consists of 24 regions, which is not true since the Crimean Peninsula is an integral part of the (25 region) of Ukraine, which as a result of military invasion by the Russian army in March of 2014 was illegally annexed by Russia.

“His action the player has flagrantly violated the statutory requirements of the FIFA and shall be punished accordingly”, — said in Union. Members drew the Committee’s attention to the inadmissibility of such statements.

Osório August 8 published a video about the trip to Zaporozhye in the Facebook account. The video was filmed before the qualifying Europa League match between Braga and Zorya. According to the results of the two-legged tie in the next round of the playoffs left the Ukrainian team.

Crimea and Sevastopol became part of Russia after the March 2014 referendum. The majority of voters of the residents supported the decision. Kiev refused to accept the new status of the region.
