Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the inactivity of the pension system over time can not withstand the load. Text of President’s address to the nation published on the Kremlin website on Wednesday, August 29.

And then came the regular payment of pensions can be a problem, as it already was in 90-e”, — Putin said, explaining the need for the government’s proposed pension changes.
He stressed that the current government would be easiest not to change anything, however, you cannot continue to ignore the changing demographic situation in the country.
According to him, the main objective of the reform is to ensure the sustainability and financial stability of the pension system for years to come. The President has decided to soften some provisions of the bill, in particular, the age of retirement for women will be reduced to 60 years instead of the government 63 for men will remain as it was conceived in the Cabinet of Ministers is 65 years.
