Trump has threatened to withdraw from the WTO

The US President Donald trump said that Washington may withdraw from the world trade organization (WTO) if it does not improve its work. About it reports Reuters.

According to him, the WTO with the United States “very bad” appeal for many years, and the organization needs “change”. In particular, he called the offer of EU tariffs on cars “good enough”.

On 1 June, the U.S. imposed a 25 percent duty on steel imports and 10 percent on imported aluminium. In response, the European Commission imposed a 25 percent tariff on some American goods, including corn, Bourbon, jeans and motorcycles. Russia and other WTO members initiated dispute with the United States. On 25 July, the EU made concessions to Trump, agreed to increase imports of liquefied natural gas to Europe to reduce industrial tariffs and import more American farm products.

29 August, the United States complained to the WTO on Russia because of retaliatory duties that Moscow has imposed on the number of us goods after the same steps of Washington. The Russian government in early July approved the introduction of protective duties against the United States by raising tariffs on some goods. The fees were set in the range from 25 to 40 percent. August 5 the decision entered into force.
