Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is ready to host Russian military base on its territory, says the leader of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the TV channel “Russia 24” on Friday, August 31.

“We must immediately demand in Iran, and in Turkey, the Russian military air and naval base. It [Turkey] is ready, I talked with you, Erdogan. He wants to be with Russia, he doesn’t want to be in a queue, to stand in the last car and to go to the EU. With us he wants. Because with us the whole world will know who is Erdogan,” — said the politician.

In July, Zhirinovsky visited Ankara to attend the inauguration ceremony of Erdogan at the personal invitation of the Turkish President. Then the leader of the liberal democratic party said that, in his opinion, located in southern Turkey’s Incirlik air base could be closed for NATO and handed over to the Russian side.

In September 2017, Moscow and Ankara signed an agreement to supply Turkey systems s-400. The beginning of deliveries scheduled for July 2019. The decision of the Turkish authorities has angered the United States.
