Sailors in distress in the Strait of Kerch tow “Squall” saved. This is stated on the website of EMERCOM in the Republic of Crimea.
“In 11.17 of the cargo ship “Buzzard” raised the crew on Board the small tug “Squall” in the amount of seven people. The issue of delivery of crew ashore”, — stated in the message. About TASS with reference to press service of the southern regional emergency center reported that all sailors are alive and safe, their health is not in danger.
In the morning, September 8, it became known that two kilometers from the shore near the village of Geroevka, the Kerch small tow “Squall” got caught in a storm and it pours rain. The captain of the vessel requested assistance for the removal of the vessel’s seven crew members.
Soon the sailors left the ship and moved to a life raft, which began to drift towards the land. Their rescue was complicated by the strong waves, so that rescuers are not immediately able to remove them from the raft.
