The Perm regional court has left without changes a sentence of 64-year-old labour veteran Igor Troshevo convicted in his overgrown garden Mac. About it reports TASS.

As the lawyer said Yegor Mikhailov, the prosecution insisted on changing the category of crime less serious, to admit the crime srednetiajelom. In this case, the pensioner would be exempt from penalties on non-rehabilitating circumstances. The defense opposed this, as proposed by the Prosecutor the option implied recognition of the convicts guilt, and Troshev insists on complete innocence.

The veteran plans to file a cassation appeal to the Presidium of the Perm regional court and appeal against the previous court decisions.

Igor Troshev received a year of probation for growing up on his site Mac. He was convicted under article 231 of the criminal code (“Illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs”). The man was accused that in his garden grew this summer 467 of poppy bushes that allegedly threatened the safety and health of the population. Troshev said that the plant came after he filled the beds with new soil.

Initially the Prosecutor demanded to sentence pensioner of three years in prison. The court took into consideration that Troshev — the veteran of work and his wife’s disability.
