Operation of the rocket middle class “Soyuz-FG” will be completed in 2019, the media will completely replace the Russian “Soyuz-2.1 a”, recalled in an interview with TASS the General Director of “Rosatom” Dmitry Rogozin.
“Until the end of 2019 will be launched five remaining “Union-FG” with the Ukrainian control system, after that — from 2020 — we are moving to a fully domestic rocket “Soyuz-2.1 a”. “Soyuz-FG” are stored unassembled, package they collected only at the cosmodrome”, — said the head of state Corporation.
The three-stage rocket middle class “Soyuz-FG” is designed to launch into orbit unmanned spacecraft, and manned spacecraft of the “Soyuz-TMA” and cargo spacecraft “Progress-M” on the ISS program. Designed and produced Samara space rocket centre “Progress” on the basis of “Soyuz-U”.
With the aim of increasing the specific impulse propulsion systems and increased capacity of the carrier on the blocks of the first and second stages of the carrier used an upgraded engine with a new nozzle heads. From the Baikonur cosmodrome into orbit with an inclination of 64.9 degrees and a height of 190 kilometers, the missile is able to output up to 7.9 tons payload. The only unsuccessful launch of the carrier took place on 11 October, when in the course of the flight “Soyuz-FG” with “Soyuz MS-10” for 123 seconds occurred emergency shutdown of engines of the second stage of the rocket. Were in the ship cosmonaut of the Roscosmos Alexei Ovchinin and NASA astronaut Tyler Hague, Nicholas used the recovery system, through which the crew made an emergency landing in the descent capsule of the spaceship. After the incident, manned launches to the ISS were suspended.
