Created in Russia a rocket middle class “Soyuz-5” will be called in honor of the Irtysh river, told RIA Novosti two sources in the space industry.

“The possibility of renaming the carrier rocket “Soyuz-5″ in honor of the Irtysh river. Necessary documents for renaming of the prepared but not signed yet,” said one of the interlocutors. A second source confirmed this information.

According to the Agency, the initiative to call the new Russian missiles and boosters in honor of the rivers belongs to the General Director “Rosatom” Dmitry Rogozin.

The developer of the “Soyuz-5” — RSC Energia, the manufacturer of the RCC “Progress”.
