The FSB accuses the resident of the Crimea according to the article from the “Spring pack” due to the fact that he did not report the crime of a relative. This was told to Novaya Gazeta’s lawyer Emil Kurbedinov.

According to him, the accused — Crimean Tatar — did not disclose information about a brother of his wife, who had gone to fight in Syria. It is noted that Crimean residents were questioned, and several times raided his house.

The lawyer called it a case of a bad trend and considered that the authorities are trying to exert pressure on people. “That is the person is forced to be a Snitch about everything he sees. If you have a suspicion against the neighbor, or even relative, you have to run the FSB and tell them otherwise — criminal article,” said Kurbedinov.

In 2017 under the same article were convicted of two students of Astrakhan medical University and sentenced to a fine in the amount of 80 thousand rubles. Both defendant communicated with former classmates who fought in illegal armed groups, including in Syria.

205.6 article of the criminal code (“failure to report a crime”) was established in 2016 in the framework of the so-called “Spring package”. According to the law, a fine of up to 100 thousand rubles may be imposed for failure to report a crime of a terrorist nature.
