In the colonies of strict regime convicted law enforcement officers to overcome the shortage of places. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to the Federal service of execution of punishments (FSIN).
The Ministry said that measures had been taken “to create additional places to accommodate the former employees of courts and law enforcement agencies in the colony”.
Earlier, on 14 November, the Deputy head of the FSIN Valery Maksimenko said that the penal colony for former policemen filled and it is necessary to build a new one. He suggested that the increase in the number of security forces convicted connected with anti-corruption activities.
According to the FSIN, on November 1, 2018 in Russia registered 571 thousand prisoners, they are contained in 707 penal colonies.
