The leaders of the 27 EU member States have approved a draft agreement on British exit from the EU at an emergency summit in Brussels. This was announced by European Council President Donald Tusk on Twitter.
According to Reuters, heads of States took about half an hour to sign a contract for 600 pages, establishing the terms of a British exit from the European Union and a 26-page Declaration, which sets out the future trading relations of the parties. The next step will be approval by the British Parliament.
Many leaders expressed their dissatisfaction with the Brexit at an emergency summit in Brussels. “No one wins — we all lose,” — said the Prime Minister of the Netherlands mark Rutte. He also added that if the UK does not approve the transaction, further concessions from the EU will not. “We did everything we could”, — the politician concluded.
Earlier, on November 25 Theresa may appealed to the British to support agreed with her Cabinet project deals with the European Union on the terms Brexit. She stated that on March 29, 2019 United Kingdom leaves the European Union, and begin a new Chapter in the lives of the people of the UK.
The decision to withdraw the UK from the EU were adopted by referendum on 23 June 2016. The rejection of EU membership was supported by more than half of voters.
