The U.S. military did not leave the North-Eastern part of Syria as long as Turkey will not agree not to pursue living in the territory of the Kurds. This statement Sunday, January 6, was made by the US presidential Advisor for national security John Bolton, reports Bloomberg.
According to him, in Washington believe that Turkey needs to take military action, not coordinated and not agreed with US completely. Ankara’s actions, as pointed out by Bolton, must not endanger not only American troops, but also among Washington’s allies in Syria.
Bolton also said that the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria does not imply the establishment of an arbitrary period of time at the end of which the U.S. military must leave the territory of this country. “The schedule [of withdrawal] depends on political decisions that we need to accomplish,” he said.
In addition, the Advisor Donald trump recognized that there are many grounds for concern about the revival of the terrorist organization “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia), however, as noted by Bolton, “the US President has full authority to protect the interests of the country and allies around the world.”
5 Jan NBC citing a senior source in the White house have reported that some U.S. troops might stay in Syria indefinitely. The submission stated southern part of the country — there is a functioning us military base of al-TANF.
The President of the United States Donald trump announced the withdrawal of American troops from Syria in connection with the final victory over the terrorists of the “Islamic state” on December 19. A few days later he offered to take care of the rest in the region of the terrorists to other countries, including Turkey.
In the same month, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced a new operation against terrorists in North-Eastern Syria. Terrorists Ankara understands as the IG, and representatives of the Kurdish party Democratic Union (PYD) and its armed “people’s protection Units” (YPG), who now control the North-East of Syria and who are supported by Washington. At the end of December, Erdogan said that he decided to postpone the start of the military campaign after a conversation with trump.
