Foreign Ministry acknowledged the presence of Russian PMCs in another country

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia confirmed that in the Sudan are Russian private security companies (PMCs), but they are not associated with the state. This was announced by the representative of the Ministry Maria Zakharova, RIA Novosti reported.

According to her, Russian firms are engaged exclusively in training for the security forces of Sudan. She added that all other information about this — fake.

On 15 January on the theme of the presence of Russian traders in the Sudan spoke to the press attache of the Russian Embassy in Khartoum Vladimir Tomsk. He called stuffing the reports that Russian mercenaries helped the Sudanese government to suppress mass protests.

In November 2018, it was reported that the mercenaries, who are linked to billionaire Yevgeny Prigozhin, provided security in several African countries. Among them was called the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Sudan, Libya, Madagascar, Angola, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and the Central African Republic (CAR).

It was alleged that the businessman with the help of mercenaries and political experts is ready to train in the use of weapons, or to organize and conduct the campaign. In exchange for the services of its structure, in particular eligible for mining according to the material.

The foreign Ministry it was indicated that under the Republic the experts help in strengthening the country’s armed forces and “cannot be classified as mercenaries”.
