Russia will have to sign a contract with Kiev on the transit of gas to Europe, as is the need to ensure delivery prior to the construction of the pipeline “Nord stream-2”. This broadcast UMN said Deputy Minister of energy and coal industry of Ukraine Natalia Boyko.
According to her, until the first of January 2020, Russia will not have time to build a pipeline, but will need some way to transport gas to Europe. The official believes that the longer time stretches, the harder it will negotiate and less time to come to something common.
Boyko also said that Kyiv will not compromise on the decision of the Stockholm arbitration, as the position of Moscow “is getting worse and worse”.
Previously, on 21 January, the Minister of energy of Russia Alexander Novak said that to save the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine to Kiev it is necessary to provide clear rules for the operation of its gas transportation system. He noted that the new contract should be commercially attractive and the route is competitive.
