Russia is discussing with Cuba the modernization of Railways, aircraft and energy complex, which the Russian side is ready to allocate billions of euros. This was announced by Vice Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, reports TASS.
The project on modernization of Railways in Cuba is estimated at two billion euros and in seven years will be crucial for the Cuban economy, I’m sure Borisov. The Vice-Premier said that the country’s progress in the implementation of this project. “We agreed to split it into two stages, to optimize the credit resources, in the near future we will reach a concrete implementation”, — he said.
In addition, countries agreed on the restoration of the Cuban fleet and the creation of a service centre for aircraft maintenance. “This audit the state of airworthiness of the Park is the Il-96, Tu-204, An-158, we determined the volumes, parts, timing of repair, developed agreements, contracts, everything passed in a practical plane”, — said Borisov. For 2019 it is planned to spend works on restoration of all capacities.
Until 2030 Russia and Cuba will cooperate in the energy sector. “The goal of this program is to increase the efficiency of energy infrastructure and away from oil supplies. This is including the hedging what is happening in Venezuela,” — said Deputy Prime Minister.
In December, Russia has developed the program of financial assistance to Venezuela in which the opposition forces try to overthrow President Nicolas Maduro. In 2019 Russia agreed to supply Venezuela 600 thousand tons of grain and to invest about five billion dollars.
