Moscow is not satisfied with the categorical approach of the United States to discussions of the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate range (the INF Treaty), said the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov on Friday, January 25. It is quoted by TASS.

The representative of the Kremlin has expressed regret at the unwillingness of the American side to hear partners.

“The Russian side will continue to bring its consistent position to our interlocutors, all the parameters of our positions are well known, they are absolutely transparent,” — said Peskov.

16 January, Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the US has once again set an ultimatum to Russia. Americans believe that a cruise missile ground-based 9М729 violates the agreement. To see the gun firsthand, they refused, said Lavrov.

The President of the United States Donald trump announced its intention to withdraw from the agreement on 20 October 2018. Later, Washington accused Russia of violating the Treaty, which prohibits ballistic missiles, land-based and cruise missiles with ranges between 500 and 5.5 thousand kilometers.
