The Ministry of foreign Affairs warned Russians traveling abroad, about the dangers of persecution by U.S. intelligence agencies. This is stated in the statement published on the Agency’s website.
The Ministry said that the threat there as in the United States, and in countries that have a Treaty with them about the results.
“Us intelligence agencies not only resort to provocations against our citizens, but also go to outright theft, as happened with the civil pilot K. V. Yaroshenko arrested in 2010 in Liberia and then smuggled to the United States, and R. V. Seleznyov, who in 2014 were forcibly sent back from the Maldives,” reads the warning.
There is underlined that the arrested Russians used threats and other measures of psychological impact: to beat out confession, they are kept in very cold or, on the contrary, stuffy cells, deprived of normal beds, medical aid and walks.
The foreign Ministry also said that Russian foreign institutions are doing everything possible to help the arrested Russian citizens, but the obstacles to creating a “hostile actions of Washington”: we are talking about the closure by U.S. authorities of the General Consulate of the Russian Federation in Seattle and San Francisco.
January 15 in the American media appeared information that the Russian Maria Butina was sent to the United States with the consent of the Kremlin.
13 December last year, Butina, located in an American prison, the court confessed that he worked as a foreign agent under the leadership of the Russian state official without the consent of the Prosecutor General of the United States. Then she softened conditions.
The Kremlin says all charges from the US to address the Russians unfounded, and the foreign Ministry said that she was tortured in prison.
