State Duma Deputy Ildar Bikbaev proposed to carry out the action, timed to the 75 th anniversary of the liberation of blockaded Leningrad. The MP is planning to give the inhabitants of St. Petersburg 125-gram rate of bread, cooked according to the recipe of the times of isolation of the city. Bikbaev said that the event is held for 11 years, but in 2019 the Deputy first bring the siege of bread in St. Petersburg. On 27 January he intends to give it to the visitors of the Museum of bread and Piskarevsky memorial, where mass of burying the dead from starving residents of Leningrad, as well as management of the city.

It is noted that the initiatives made more than 12 million servings of bread. As the parliamentarian explained, the initiative aims “to sensations received in those terrible days.”

Bikbaeva was accused of violating the boundaries of the permissible. In particular, the editor of the diaries of the siege of Natalia Sokolovskaya invited member of the “starve the month, and then experiment with the bread that is impossible”. The Deputy of legislative Assembly Alexey Tsivilev called Bikbaeva “find courage” to abandon the initiative.
