By 2036, the population of Russia will be 153,2 million. The forecast published by Rosstat, reports “Izvestia”.
The figures announced earlier by Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova on the growth in the number of Russians with the 2023-2024 year, correlated with a renewed optimistic forecast of Rosstat. It is noted that the government expects the most favorable scenario.
In 2018, the greatest influence on the population decline affected the actual reduction in the birth rate and migration growth.
On 23 January it became known that Russia’s population declined for the first time in 10 years. As of 1 January, there are about 146 million 793,7 thousands of people, which is 86,7 thousand fewer than a year earlier.
Informed Golikova at the Gaidar forum said that the negative trend in natural population decline will change in 2023-2024.
